Tullylish Underage Presentation Awards
On Wednesday 23rd September 2009, Tullylish held their annual Underage Presentation Awards in the Belmont Hotel. As is custom now, this event is one of the major events in the Tullylish calendar. As in past years the event was well supported with 112 underage players and 150 adults in attendance. With teams ranging from under six to under sixteen being represented.
Earlier in the year our under eight team lifted the O’Hagan Shield at the Clan Na Gael Tournament while the under ten team performed well with runners up at the St Michaels Blitz. The under twelve boys performed well all year and due to the display and well behaved manner from this team they have been invited to play in a floodlit competition at Pairc Esler in Newry in October. The Tullylish under 14’s girls also had great form this year when they finished mid table in their respective league and were narrowly defeated by Carryduff in the Final of the All County Championship. The under 14 boys team took centre stage this year with a clean sweep when they won the South Down B Championship, the All County B Championship, the all County Feile and the icing in a remarkable season came when they won the South Down Division Two League Title. Out Under 16 lads deserve great credit also whilst playing in the very competitive division two league a grade up from last year, they finished the season strong in mid table.
This has been a tremendous year for all connected with Under Age Football Development at Tullylish and although this years success is going to be a hard act to follow next season the boys and girls from Tullylish will be back for more of the same.
